  1. Review & agree.
Make sure you understand and agree to the project. Please read the overview of the project on the about page. By participating, you are stating that you have read about and understand the project and agree to the main principles around collection and use of information.
  2. Get in touch!
Understand, and ready to take part? Great! Let me know–reach out to me via Babies for Climate Action on Facebook, or email: participatorycreation@gmail.com
  3. Let’s talk / Time to reflect.
Participate in a conversation with the artist/project organizer (Laurel),  or use use the self-led dialogue/reflection guide (coming soon). A conversation with Laurel will be virtual or socially distanced conversation. The conversation will be recorded, so that a clip can be used in our virtual quilt along with your square.
  4. Select a moment,
... memory, or discovery from the conversation/reflection to illustrate in your quilt square.
  5. Your quilt square.
Either you can create your quilt square or we can partner you with a volunteer to help. We can provide you with a kit, or the dimensions and details, and you can make a square for yourself and/or your kids! Quilt squares can be made in any way—appliqué, embroidery, fabric markers, painted, and cam be made by children or adults. You can check out some of the fabrics we have available here.
  6. Submit your square! Your square will become part of the physical quilt, and it will be digitized (photographed or scanned) to become part of the virtual quilt. Together, we will work together to create a digital story or clip that will be connected to your square on the digital quilt.
  7. A digital & physical quilt. Eventually, the finished physical quilt (or at different stages of completion), will “tour” around the community and possibly beyond. Possible sites include: libraries, our local MLA’s office, community centres and more! We welcome your ideas. This project and the digital quilt is also anticipated to be linked to from the Prairie Climate Centre’s Climate Atlas website.

(Please note: This project is in the pilot phase and open to adjustments, so feel free to make a request, suggestion, or share your idea!)
