About the Open Studio:
The open studio is a record of concepts and conversations that have emerged over the course of the artist residency, and were shared with members of the Prairie Climate Center in bi-weekly, Tuesday morning meetings. Blog posts containing notes and links to resources and articles were made prior to the meeting.
Studio sessions provided a much needed space for thought exploration, particularly given the challenges experienced in producing this project (centered on community engagement), in the face of multiple intersecting climate change related crises.
The COVID-19 pandemic and wildfires leading to unhealthy particle levels and unhealthy air quality intersected with and amplified existing housing and childcare crises in the Vancouver area for families.
